Ongoing support, shaped with you and reviewed over time
LRT—Lifestyle Regulation Therapy—is my approach to supporting people with nutrition, lifestyle and habits. It starts with understanding your experience and the circumstances of your life, so that we can develop goals and actions together that make sense in your everyday routine.
This is longitudinal support: we follow your progress over time. At our agreed appointments, we return to what we discussed, review what you have been able to put into practice, and adjust the next steps based on what we are learning.
The pillars of ongoing support
1. Your voice comes first
How you describe your experience matters. I listen to your concerns, expectations and priorities, taking care to preserve the meaning of your words when we decide what to work on.
2. Your everyday circumstances
Your schedule, responsibilities, resources and circumstances influence what is possible. We take them into account so that suggestions reflect your everyday life and the barriers you need to address.
3. Understanding what needs attention
We explore the aspects of your habits and lifestyle that deserve attention, and how they relate to one another. Nutrition, movement, rest and stress may be part of that conversation, depending on your needs. This helps us organise the themes and decide what to work on first.
4. Goals agreed with you
We agree goals together. We start with what you want to work towards and why it matters to you, then find a clear way to describe each goal and recognise how it develops.
5. Actions with a clear purpose
We connect proposed actions to your agreed goals. One action may contribute to several goals. Exploring these connections helps us understand its purpose and choose where to focus your effort.
6. A place in your routine
We work out when, where and how often you will try each action. We also discuss reminders, possible difficulties and how to review what happened, so that the plan has a defined place in your routine.
7. Reviewing, learning and adjusting
At each review, we return to your observations and any records we have agreed to use. We look for patterns, recognise progress and difficulties, and decide together whether to continue, adapt an action or consider a next step.
Understanding and taking part in your process
Throughout our work together, I share explanations to help you understand the suggestions and take part in decisions.
LRT guides this work. ALTHEA is the platform I am developing to help organise the information and follow-up involved.
